Clayton Bay Caravan Park

From the cool breezes off the water on a summer day to the warming winter sun and the tranquility of the water in winter. The interplay of the elements, the waters edge location in this wonderous waterway and wetland ensure a variety of experiences for our visitors.

Our small older style park has little to offer those who favor big park glitz. It retains the feel of the caravan parks and camping grounds of the 60's and 70's. Grass, trees for shade and a brilliant water front location for swimming, canoeing, and sailing. There is no mini golf, no swimming pool nor spa, ( but there is the lake ) no inflatable castle not even an office on site, well not what most people expect an office to be. However, if you are looking for a simple, natural place that features a peaceful, quiet, waterside atmosphere with like minded people, then this is the place.

Just over an hour from Adelaide, there is no other place quite like it in South Australia. There is a couple of tiny bays, cleared of reeds,with grassy edge and sandy bottom that we call beaches. Great for wading about, swimming, throwing the ball for the dog, playing with the kids and of course boating of all kinds. There is 3 kilometers of Walking Trail, a Boardwalk through the reedbeds and canoes and kayaks for hire.

Extra people $5/night, pre-school children free ( under 5 years)

We have 20 powered sites. and 10 unpowered sites.

Powered Sites $25/night twin share.
Un-powered Sites $20/night twin share
Extra people $5/night, pre-school children free ( under 5 years)
Maximum 6 people per site.

IN THE LOCAL AREA
Clayton Bay: - There are take-a-ways and licensed dine in or on the deck meals at Sails of Clayton Bay which also supplies grocery items, beverages and deli items.

Milang: - 10 minutes away, a wider range of supplies is available from the Milang Mini-Mart. Take aways are available from 'On the Lake' Cafe over looking Lake Alexandrina. The Milang Pier Hotel has a good pub dining room open each night for meals.

Strathalbyn: - 30 minutes away, a pictuesque town with many antique shops and a fine Angus River location.

Langhornes Creek: - 20 minutes away, this wine area has many cellar door sales outlets and can provide a great afternoons activity.

Currency Creek: - 20 minutes in the oposite direction, this smaller wine area has a couple of cellar doors sales outlets and is on the way to the south coast.

Goolwa: - 35 minutes away, an historic river port, an important recreational boating centre for the Alexandrina Waterways and the beaches of the Great Southern Ocean.
